Ian A. White, M.S., Ph.D.

Dr.   White.  is   an   expert   in   the   field   of  regenerative medicine and stem cell biology   with  over  20  years’  experience  working  in  academia and industry.  Dr.  White  received  his   B.S.   from     Liverpool    John    Moores  University  and  his   M.S.   from   the   famed  Liverpool   School  of   Tropical   Medicine in  England prior to  being hired  at  Dartmouth  College in the United States to study the genetics of gamete biology. In August of 2000 Dr. White was recruited to Harvard University to work with hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and immune cell biology under the mentorship of the world-renowned Dr. Laurie Glimcher, where he co-authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications. Dr. White went on to receive his Ph.D. from the Ansary Stem Cell Institute, division of Regenerative Medicine at Cornell University under the guidance of Howard Hughes investigator Dr. Shahin Rafii. During this time Dr. White developed an in vitro method for culture expanding autologous HSCs in an artificial vascular niche for the treatment of cancer patients who have undergone bone marrow ablation following chemo- or radio-therapy. This technology has since gone on to be commercialized by Cornell and the company, Angiocrine, LLC, has become one of the top two HSC expansion companies in the US.

Following the completion of his Ph.D., Dr. White spent time as a post-doctoral research scientist in the embryonic stem cell (ESC) laboratory of Dr. Stephen Dalton, whose pioneering work led to the inclusion of c-myc as one of the four factors used by Nobel award winning Dr. Shinya Yamanaka in the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

Subsequently, Dr. White relocated to the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. White published ground-breaking research in the field of regenerative medicine alongside Dr. Joshua Hare, including a book chapter on the use of Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) in cardiac regeneration. In 2015, Dr. White’s work on the regeneration of the heart was featured on the cover of Circulation Research, one of the top peer-reviewed journals for cardiovascular medicine in the world. In 2016. Dr. White was honored with an award for the “Best Manuscript” by the American Heart Association for this work, which highlighted the role of peripheral nerves in cardiac regeneration. Dr. White has lectured and published extensively in the field of stem cell biology, clinical stem cell applications and regenerative medicine.

Owen T. Carhart

Owen  Carhart is  an  accomplished   entrepreneur and businessman residing in   Miami,   Florida.   Mr.  Carhart earned   his  bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College in   2009. In 2010 Mr. Carhart founded Carhart   Capital Management, an investment firm   focused on advising and consulting retail and   institutional investment clients on investment and insurance products. Carhart Capital Management expanded its offices to Miami Florida in 2011 and grew its assets under management. In 2016 Carhart Capital Management’s assets was acquired by a competitor organization. In 2015 Mr. Carhart incorporated Carhart Enterprises, LLC, a holding company developed for the purpose of investing, consulting, and developing new or existing entities that required additional capital or business development to go to market. Owen Carhart currently retains ownership in two developed entities and has divested interests in seven other entities. 

Mr. Carhart has broad business development and financial expertise across multiple industries which include: Finance, manufacturing, health-care, retail, commercial and residential real estate, and political consulting and fundraising. Through his career Mr. Carhart has assisted in multiple capital raises resulting in a total amount raised of over $20M for multiple companies, organizations, and not for profits.  Further, Mr. Carhart has consulted with over 40 start-up organizations and has been a trusted advisor and consultant for bringing new products to market, negotiating deal structures, and generally improving business processes/ systems.

Mr. Carhart is also a passionate and civically engaged global citizen and has sat on the board of directors for three not for profit organizations and has been the financial chair for over 10 political campaigns in Miami Florida and Western Pennsylvania. His business expertise has assisted these organization in growing their reach, increasing their top line charitable contributions, and executing this respective mission statements.

Pascal Goldschmidt, M.D.

Goldschmidt is an accomplished cardiologist, professor, academic healthcare leader, and medical researcher. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Lennar Corporation (LEN on NYSE). He has served as a Tenured Professor at three prestigious institutions, Duke University School of Medicine, Ohio State University (OSU) and University of Miami. He was Center Director at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (then OSU), Chief of Cardiology at OSU, then at Duke, and Chairman of Medicine at Duke. In 2006, he became Dean of the Miller School of Medicine and Founder/CEO of UHealth, the University of Miami Health System. Dr. Goldschmidt and his team expanded UHealth to include the medical practice, three hospitals, and major outpatient clinic facilities along both coasts of South Florida. Clinical revenues increased three-fold over a ten-year period, which represented one of the fastest compound annual growth rate for academic medical centers in the USA.

During his tenure at the University of Miami, the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine rose up 13 positions (from 51 to 38 out of 177 United States Medical Schools) in the national rankings of research medical schools based on grants received from the National Institutes of Health, thus establishing this School as the highest-ranked medical school in Florida. To achieve this, Dr. Goldschmidt established new Institutes and Centers focused on team science and big data that brought in groundbreaking new knowledge, jobs, millions of dollars in research funding, and poised the Miller School and UHealth for continued excellence. 

Dr. Goldschmidt has a long list of honors and awards, beginning in 1980 with his graduation as a medical doctor and Valedictorian of Class of 225 from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. The list of his patents, publications, articles numbers more than 300. His 250 invited lectureships and speaking engagements are testimony to his professional expertise. In 2018, Goldschmidt (founder and president of Alzady International LLC) joined Anoup Treon (European Care Global Ltd) to form American Healthcare System Ltd (AHS) in the UK. Mercedes Kweh, Ph.D.

Mercedes received her doctoral degree in Immunology and Molecular Biology from the University of Florida.  She is a self-motivated and versatile Medical Research Immunologist with a 16+ year history encompassing detailed development of medical and commercial strategies, execution of pre-clinical and clinical research, effective influence on scientific collaborations, and supervision of cross-functional teams.
Over the course of her career, she has established a track record of success by leveraging a collaborative leadership and teamwork style to accomplish all short- and long-term clinical objectives. She articulates excellent communication skills as she has successfully published 33 peer-reviewed articles and has presented her work in numerous national and international research and clinical conferences.  She has also built a solid base of knowledge and expertise in clinical operations and specialized care (i.e. oncology, hematologic malignancies, bone pathologies, infectious diseases, and cardiovascular disease).  Prior to joining Neobiosis she was investigating the preclinical efficacy and safety profile of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in the treatment of hematologic cancers and has an extensive understanding of the current and developing Standard of Care in this area making her an asset in the fundamental understanding of the impact our products can have in this therapeutic area.

Throughout her career, she has provided efficient oversight of clinical trial operations, displayed a deep passion for medical writing, and showcased exceptional capabilities during collaborations with Key Opinion Leaders, as well as Health Care Professionals. These various attributes ensure that she, not only, has the understanding but the drive to facilitate the consistent growth of our organizational goals, guaranteeing continuous compliance of regulatory standards, and achieving expectations set by Neobiosis.

Tamara Bonacorsi

Tamara Bonacorsi has been passionately dedicated to sales and business development within the medical device industry since  2002. She has worked with a wide variety  of specialties including: Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Spine. Her knowledge of aesthetic devices includes the Lumenis, Candela, Cutera, Zerona, and Sciton Lasers and the Viora Radio Frequency devices. Her expertise in autologous biologics includes Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate, Platelet Rich Plasma and Adipose Tissue Concentrate. As Director of Practice Development for Private Practice and Multi Clinic Franchises, Tamara educated and managed a team of nine consultants covering the US, Canada, Mexico, England, and Ireland. She developed and implemented successful medical device training protocols and sales programs. She also negotiated, managed, and executed multi-clinic medical device and evaluation trials for Lifetime Fitness Centers and American Laser Centers throughout the US as well as Harrods Med Spa in London, England.

In 2015 Tamara entered into the Autologous Biologics field working for the Harvest Technologies division in Terumo BCT. There she managed distributors selling medical device kits for collecting and centrifuging autologous biologics to surgeons covering multiple hospital systems within ten states. Her clients included the prestigious HSS (Hospital for Special Surgery), NYU, Montefiore and University of Pennsylvania health systems within the Tri-State area as well as Walter Reed and John Hopkins hospitals in the District of Columbia. Tamara effectively educated distributors, staff and surgeons on biologics products and specialty markets. She negotiated contracts with eight multimillion-dollar hospital accounts and grew her territory revenues from $4.3 to $6.9 million within two years. Tamara has successfully worked for start-ups, large corporations, and start-up divisions within large corporations. She understands the intricacies required to successfully navigate the requirements of the company with the needs of the customer.

Deborah Pollock

Deborah Pollock has cultivated a successful career in accounting and finance, specializing in the hospitality industry. Ms. Pollock has played a key role in the opening of 26 hotels, and 4 major casinos in the US, Canada and the Bahamas. She has excelled in the role of Controller for over 12 years, contributing to the success of single and multi-unit hotels, resorts, casinos and business establishments. In 2008, Ms. Pollock formed her own consulting business, providing expert advice for revenue enhancement, remediation, and strategies for improvement. She is a specialist in internal and operational audits. She has been a featured speaker for the regional conferences with the Choice Hotels Owner Council.

Ms. Pollock is a US Army Medical Corps veteran, and magna cum laude graduate of D’Youville College in Buffalo. She is member of the Miami Beach, FL and New Haven, CT Rowing Clubs, and a partner in a thoroughbred horse with Dream Maker Racing. She volunteers with the Miami Beach para-rowing team for the disabled, the New Haven, CT youth rowing team, and women’s veteran organizations. She is an avid cook, gardener and jazz enthusiast.
